What Not to Pack
Founded in 2014 by Scott Lawson, Loutur Moving has built its reputation on safety, reliability, and transparency. To ensure every move runs smoothly and without risk, we’ve developed clear policies regarding non-transportable and prohibited items. Understanding what cannot be moved helps protect our customers, employees, and equipment during transit.
Why Certain Items Are Restricted
Some items are considered hazardous, perishable, or otherwise unsuitable for transport in moving trucks. These restrictions are based on both federal transportation regulations and Loutur Moving’s internal safety standards.
Non-Transportable Items
For the safety of all involved, the following categories of items cannot be included in your shipment:
- Hazardous Materials. Substances that are flammable, explosive, or toxic are strictly prohibited.
- Perishable Goods. Food, plants, or items that can spoil, mold, or attract pests.
- Valuables and Personal Records. Documents, jewelry, or important files that should always stay in your personal possession.

Examples of Prohibited Items
Here are some common examples of items we are unable to transport:
- Gasoline, motor oil, propane tanks, and lighter fluid
- Paints, varnishes, and cleaning solvents
- Ammunition, fireworks, and firearms
- Fresh produce, frozen food, and live plants
- Cash, collectibles, and medical records
How to Prepare
If you’re unsure whether an item is allowed, our team is always available to help. We recommend:
- Reviewing this policy before packing day.
- Separating restricted items from your main belongings.
- Disposing of hazardous materials safely through local recycling or waste centers.

Moving Forward Safely
At Loutur Moving, safety always comes first.
Following our Non-Transportable and Prohibited Items Policy ensures a secure, efficient, and worry-free moving experience for everyone involved.
